Website Policies and Terms Toolkit
Reusable UK website policies and Terms templates for your client’s website.
What You Get
This subscription gives web designers and digital agencies access to professionally drafted UK website policy templates, designed to be adapted for individual client websites.
The templates support common legal requirements such as UK GDPR, cookies, website terms, and consumer refunds. They are provided as editable templates and must be completed and reviewed to reflect how each client’s website actually operates.
FAQs
-
Most business websites are legally required to provide certain information to users, particularly where personal data is collected, cookies are used, or goods or services are offered online.
Website policies help:
Meet legal obligations under UK GDPR, PECR, and consumer law
Explain how data is used, stored, and protected
Set clear expectations for website use, refunds, and limitations
Without appropriate policies in place, businesses risk complaints, enforcement action, or disputes with users.
-
The subscription provides access to editable templates for:
Website Privacy Policy
Cookie Policy
Website Terms & Conditions
Refunds & Returns Policy
These templates are designed to support typical UK small and medium-sized business websites and can be adapted to suit different sectors and website functions.
-
The templates are written to align with current UK legislation and best practice, including UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
However, they are provided as templates, not legal advice. Each document must be completed accurately and reviewed to ensure it reflects how the client’s website actually operates.
Final responsibility for compliance rests with the website owner.
-
No. These are not copy-and-paste documents.
Each template includes placeholders and prompts that must be completed using the client’s specific information, such as:
Data processing activities
Cookies used on the website
Business contact details
Refund and returns practices
Using the templates without proper completion or review may result in inaccurate or non-compliant policies.
-
The website owner is ultimately responsible for ensuring their policies remain accurate and up to date.
Web designers using the templates should ensure policies are correctly adapted at the point of delivery, but ongoing updates are the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed as part of a support service.
-
Yes.
While the subscription is active, web designers may use the templates across multiple client websites, provided they are used as part of the designer’s own web design, development, or website support services.
The templates must not be resold or redistributed as standalone legal documents.
-
Templates may be updated periodically to reflect changes in legislation or best practice.
Access to updated versions is available while the subscription remains active. An automated email will be sent to subscribers informing them when a document has been updated. Web designers and their clients are responsible for reviewing whether updates are required for existing websites.
-
No. The subscription is provided to web designers and agencies, not their end clients.
Clients should raise any questions or requests for changes with their web designer, who is responsible for adapting and supplying the policies as part of the website project.
However, subscribers are welcome to contact Gia Consulting directly if they have questions about the templates, how to use them correctly, or what information needs to be included. Support is provided to help subscribers apply the templates appropriately within their projects.
If a client requires bespoke compliance advice, this must be arranged separately and directly with Gia Consulting.
-
No.
Subscription fees are charged in advance, and no refunds are provided for unused or partially used subscription periods, including annual subscriptions cancelled part way through the term.
If a subscription is cancelled, access will remain available until the end of the current billing period. No further charges will be taken after cancellation.
-
Once a subscription is set up and payment is confirmed, subscribers are given access to the templates digitally.
Access is provided via a webpage sent to you along with an access password. These will be emailed to you after purchase and confirmation.
